Coursework task 2

  Task 2 Synopsis   In the opening we will see the main character Zara wake up and start her day, trapped in the house, which we would later learn is because she  was behind at school and had been told off by her teachers and parents.  And was being sent off to boarding school at the end of the summer.  While  attempting  to  do her work at her desk, she looks over at photos, memories from the Summer and other good times. We then see these memories come to l ife and see short sections of video for each of the photos that she looks at. As  this is happening there is the diegetic sound of  laughing,  however little to no dialogue. Over the top there will be  non-diegetic music, “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap.  After  all of  the memories take place Z ara stands up, texts her friends and leaves the room in a hurry.  The film continues with Zara  and her friends trying to make even more memories and...

Coursework task 1

TASK 1   Professional made teen film openings   Submarine:   Submarine (2010) Opening sequence    The film Submarine starts at the beginning of the story, as it has a linear structure, meaning that it is in chronological order .   The opening scene is  relatively short , as after the  opening credits we see a series of pan shots, some  close up , before a montage of landscape establishing  shots.  As this occurs the audience at first hears  the sea ,  before an i nner monologue /narration plays and then there is music ( stuck  on  the puzzle – Alex Turner).  The overall aesthetic of the opening seems  pleasant due to the warm tones and the soft colours.      The opening of this film  doesn’t  fit with the regular conventions of a teen film, which often contain  things such as a school, lots of people, clear social groups (e.g.  nerd , popular people,  mi...
